New song by Crunch is their best yet
The all-female melodious soft-rock trio Crunch – I introduced you, dear readers, to them last year – has a new song out, Blue. It is their best song yet.
Because the focus is completely on the fragile, melancholic singing of Noriyo Hotta, for one thing. The instrumental accompaniment is very restraint and very sober, applying just the right accents strictly where needed. The song is mixed, I read at my online friend Toyokazu Mori’s blog, by Masahiro Araki, keyboard player of Remigai, the band that so far made my favorite album of this year.
It’s a song about loneliness, something about being swallowed by a deep blue, ideal for Christmas, this crystalline, brittle little gem of a song.
