P-iPLE: kick-ass noise from Tokyo
Time for some good old noise to drive a way the autumn chill from my old bones. P-iPLE is a grrrl-influenced noise-rock band from Tokyo. I hadn’t heard the word ‘grrrl’ for a while, I remember it from the nineties, when women still kicked men’s ass and weren’t so whiney yet.
P-iPLE has an album out: Do Do Do A Silly Travel By Bicycle Bicycle. It’s brought out by the Call And Response record label, founded by, if I am not mistaken, music critic Ian Martin, who travels all over Japan to find the best of the best of obscure indie bands. His blog is here. (PB)
