Compact Club, kind of Dadaist cabaret
Compact Club clearly doesn’t take itself too seriously, which is not to say they’re just fooling around. They make an odd mixture of Pop, Beat, Jazz, New Wave and whatever else they happen to think of at a certain moment. It certainly isn’t easy listening, it’s more like Dadaist cabaret or something.
The band’s first full length vinyl only album, Temporary Coffin, is on number 9 in Ian Martin’s list of favorite albums of 2017. (PB)
