This is reeaally soothing, healing R&B: Umi, live in her living-room
Possibly you all know Umi already and have all her records, I only just found out about her. Umi is the child of an American father and a Japanese mother and makes “bedroom R&B”. That probably means she writes and records her songs in her bedroom, on her laptop, but it’s certainly music that’s nice to create some atmosphere in your bedroom. Relaxed, dreamy twilight music to ease your anxieties and take some pressure off your cooker. Jazzy, soothing music that reminds me a lot of Pat Metheny’s double live album Travels, which if you don’t know it, I highly recommend. One of my all-time favorite albums.
Damn, I really like this living-room concert with that scarfed woman sitting there crafting a Mother’s Day present or something. These are songs from her Introspection EP which you can listen to here. (PB)
