Tokyo Gegegay, satirizing Japan while dancing like a motherfucker
Everybody is always going on about K-pop but show me a K-pop group that is as interesting, musically and aesthetically, as J-poppers Tokyo Gegegay. This dance group is led by Mikey, a Boy George-like character but a lot sexier, and features a bunch of eccentrics who can dance like a motherfucker. They regularly release a catchy tune with an eyeball-lickingly delicious video, like the one above.
What I like most about Tokyo Gegegay is that these shapeshifters play havoc with your expectations, with Japanese tropes, customs and typicalities, they satirize pop-culture and society but without ever forgetting to sound and look beautiful.
