Sunny Day Service: Kurisumasu

You’ll have to wait until the end of this quite long but beautifully strange video before it gets christmassy with a Christmas tree on the foreground of a reconciliation of some sort, but this song is called ‘Kurisumasu‘ which, you guessed it, is Japanese for ‘Christmas’.

The song is not about roasting chestnuts or bullied reindeer but about a girl called Christmas and I think loneliness, appreciating things we’re not looking for and about the lonely monsters inside ourselves. But hey, poetry, you know. Your guess is as good as mine (well, probably not, unless you know Japanese).

The song is by Sunny Day Service, a band of which I posted a couple of videos before and it’s from their album Popcorn Ballads. (PB)
