Touchy feely with Mioriii
Frontaal Naakt is becoming something of a brand in Japan now. At least at the indie music scene. Japanese musicians send me their videos, ask me what I think of them.
This one is from Mioriii, whose birthday it is today. Omedeto gozaimasu, Mioriii (watashi no musuko no onaji tanjoobi desu)! Mioriii has been playing the piano since she was four, played with several groups, composed background music for, among others, the Planetarium in Tokyo.
Today she launches her first solo project, called ´Ms. Indie Pop´, presenting an animated video, titled ´Cotton #1´ she made herself, promoting not only her music but also her activities as a therapist of some sorts, something to do with ’touch care’.
´The concept of “Cotton” is that the experiences of touching someone else will be in our memories forever and sometimes such warmth of the past will motivate us in a difficult period’, Mioriii writes.
