Buffalo Daughter has a new album out and it’s pretty funky
I don’t know if you’ve heard of Buffalo Daughter, it’s my impression that they’re fairly well known among discriminatory lovers of alternative pop. Buffalo Daughter is from Tokyo and doesn’t have a very recognizable sound. They’re very eclectic. You might say they make something between electronic music and alt-rock, but they have a new album out which I think is particularly funky, although there are some rockers on it, and some ambient and some stuff I wouldn’t know what to call. On one track they seem to mimick Talking Heads.
The above song is called Jazz, but I don’t find it very jazzy, and it’s a co-operation with Ricardo Dias Gomes, whom I’ve never heard of. Listen to the rest of the album here.
