Mona Lisa is the new summer hit by Zombie Chang
I told you before, the Japanese are totally smitten with France and it seems everybody’s favorite disco-cutey Zombie Chang is no exception.
I can’t make heads or tails of the lyrics of her new song Mona Lisa, taken from her brand new album ‘Petit Petit Petit’ (‘petit‘ is French for ‘small’), but it seems Zombie Chang is surprised to learn the Mona Lisa is really an Italian painting.
‘Petit Petit Petit‘ is another album full of tunes (eight in total) that sound like innocent little ditties at first, but are really intricate masterpieces that appear to satirize pop music, but never lose a certain sense of fun.
Zombie Chang seems to purposely sing out of tune at times, sounding like a happy eight year old in a karaoke bar and her music is reminiscent of the summer hits played in Spanish discos in the eighties, but her songs have a warm throbbing heart, she knows how to write a melody and the arrangements are very clever.
Zombie Chang is pure art and a highly recommended alternative for whatever variant of ‘Despacito‘ is this year’s designated summer hit. (PB)
