Twitter’s rules

My Twitter-account has been suspended. I have no idea why, I have behaved like a good boy, didn’t make any sarcastic comments or bad jokes. Twitter says I violated its rules, but does not tell me which rules. I have to find out myself by reviewing those rules.

I have been stalked on Twitter by several psychopaths who seem to have no other interest than me; they have been threatening me, slandering me the whole day long, every day of the week for years now. One of them threatened my girlfriend with rape, followed her, took photographs of her and posted them on Twitter, accompanied by some nasty comments.

I have complained to Twitter on several occasions, but Twitter is unwilling to do anything about it. I was told to contact my local authorities if I thought the behaviour of my stalkers was illegal in my country.

Many of the people who engage in this continuous slander campaign are journalists who work for media outlets here in Holland. I have been accused of terrible things; of antisemitism, of creating a fake account on Twitter to harm some person I do not even know. I have been quoted out of context, my quotes have been twisted and misrepresented to make me look like a monster. The rightwing press has been harassing me, villifying me, stalking me for the past four or so years.

The reason for this is that I refuse to get carried away by the current mood of islamophobia which rules the Netherlands. My girlfriend is a Dutch woman of Moroccan descent, and it is not a good time in The Netherlands for a white man to have a Moroccan Dutch girlfriend at the moment. Moroccans are public enemy number one here. ‘Moroccan’ stands for criminal, rapist and Muslim extremist.

So what does Twitter do about these fascists? Nothing. Apparently threatening with rape and murder, extreme stalking, sexually harassing people, all of that is not in violation of Twitter’s rules. Trying to break people, damage their reputations is in accordance with Twitter’s rules.

And I have not even mentioned the people who use Twitter to advocate, under their proper names, with photos of themselves with their cute kids, the gassing and extermination of Dutch Moroccans. They do so freely, apparently without any danger of being accused of violating the rules of Twitter.

Violating those rules is what I have been accused of. I wonder which rules I have violated. What kind of terrible, unspeakable thing have I done that got my account suspended by Twitter? I called one of my stalkers a ‘weasel’ recently. Okay, I called him ‘fascist scum’ as well. Would that be the violation I am being punished for?

Somehow I cannot believe that would be the reason. I refuse to accept that Twitter would tolerate a call for my girlfriend to be raped by a ‘nigger’, but that the buck would stop at me calling her and my attackers ‘fascist scum’. That can’t be it.

I know I make many people angry by continuously pointing out the hypocrisy of my fellow Netherlanders and of the Dutch media who are all up in arms about some Dutch-Moroccan dumbass tweeting something outrageous about ISIS being a zionist complot, but who keep emphatically silent when politicians of conservative government party VVD showcase their sympathy for racist mass murderer Anders Breivik or plead for Muslims to be detained in concentration camps or ghettos. There is something undeniably racist about this selective outrage every time a Muslim says something scandalous, while white, Christian or atheïst bigotry is always whitewashed or simply denied.

I think me blowing the whistle on those racist, islamophobic hypocrites is what got me in trouble once more. Many efforts have been made to silence me. I have gone through difficult times because of this. I have been psychologically damaged by the smearing, the slandering, the continuous imputations.

But I keep going on. The fascists have not succeeded and that is why, I suspect, they set up another coordinated act to get me off Twitter, the most important source for many a Dutch lazy slob calling himself a journalist these days.

So many times I have challenged these fascists to enter into a debate with me, to bring in solid argumentation instead of personal attacks, slander and online terror. They refuse. They would rather just smother a dissident voice by way of intimidation and sabotage. They do not care they prove, by their very acts, that I am right and they are not.

Today it is me, tomorrow or the day after tomorrow it might be you and then someone else, until nobody dares to speak up anymore.

They are the biggest threat to our democratic society today. Not the Muslims, not Islam, but rightwing dicks wishing to exterminate Muslims and intimidating anyone who is not thrilled about the idea. And yes, Twitter is an important instrument in this.
