‘Deep Green‘ by Suzuki Mamiko: ideal for sultry summer evenings
Summer is my favorite season and a good summer needs a good, summery soundtrack. One could do worse than the new EP by Suzuki Mamiko of rap duo Chelmico, which is called ‘Deep Green‘.
I can see myself enjoying the perfect sangrías they serve at the terrace of Costa Natura in Spain, the mellow, jazzy hiphop of Mamiko playing in the background.
Mamiko has a warm, pleasant voice which is accompanied by a loungy band with crispy jazz guitar notes, crunchy percussion and a sultry organ. Perfect as an addition to my collection of Japanese bossa nova albums.
Available on iTunes, too!
Oh, and I found this on Patrick St. Michel’s excellent musical blog Make Believe Melodies. (PB)
