Femicide is Genocide
Very powerful manifestation against misogynist violence in Buenos Aires, Argentine, on May 30, by the Fuerza Artística de Choque Comunicativo, the ‘Artistic Force of Communicative Shock’. It’s like a solemn theatre play, a haunting monument for the women who are abused, beaten, raped and killed world wide every day.
‘Femicidio es Genicidio‘, Femicide is Genocide’. In Argentine alone 230 women were murdered last year between January 1 and October 31, one every 30 hours. In April this year the nation was shocked by the murder of activist Micaela Garcia, a 21 year old student, by a man convicted of multiple rapes but released from prison early by a judge after having served one half of his sentence.
Three powers
With this nude protest in front of the presidential palace, the National Congress and the High Court, the three powers of the state, the women accuse the state of still not doing enough to protect them against violence.
It’s not only in Argentina that women are so vulnerable. In the United States, now led by a pussy-grabbing buffoon, three women are murdered by their husband or boyfriend every day. During the same period that 6,614 American soldiers were killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, almost twice as many women were killed on American soil: 11,766 in total.
Slit brigade
In The Netherlands almost half of all women have been subjected to violence, sexual or otherwise, and one in every ten Dutch women has been raped. In this piece (in Dutch) I write about the silent Holocaust against women that has been going on since probably the beginning of human history.
Facts like these are ignored by the general public though. In the most recent parliamentary elections in Holland many votes went to a party the leader of which propagates sexual violence against women because he believes women enjoy being overpowered by strong men. His party colleague, described as a well-groomed, distinguished, archly gentleman, was quoted in one of the Dutch quality papers as saying that feminists are ‘little traipses seeking an explanation for their own paltriness’, calling them ’the malodorous slit brigade’.
