Summer is still not over with the juicy tunes of Anna Takeuchi
All that sunlight I’ve been soaking up this summer, and the fantastic food and the culture (summer is my art-admiring season, autumn and winter are for pulp) and the beach and the sea always make me susceptible to mellow music, funky and jazzy and danceable, less to rock and punk and noise.
And boy, Anna Takeuchi makes some juicy tunes. Don’t take my word for it, check out for yourself!
Takeuchi is from Kyoto, but she was born in the US, in Los Angeles, and she sings in both English (with a very American accent) and Japanese. She just brought out her third EP, At Three (het first two are named At One and At Two), containing three original and really great songs and a very enjoyable cover of Janet Jackson’s Rythm Nation.
We’re putting this one on Peter’s Summer Mixtape, to put us through the dark, chilly seasons ahead. (PB)
