The incredible voice of Hatis Noit
Japanese singer Hatis Noit brought out an EP in 2018 which became one of my favorite albums of that year. Last month she released her first full album containing nothing but her voice, except for one song, which has a background of ocean sounds.
The incredible Hatis Noit took op singing after hearing a female monk singing Buddhist chants in Nepal and combines Buddhist chanting, Japanese folk, Gregorian and Bulgarian singing and opera (I myself am reminded of Les Nouvelles Polyphonies Corses as well) into something wholly unique and enchanting and profound.
